As expected, the humour created from today's anti-climax
managed to provide much needed relief from both Radio 4's
The News Quiz and tonight's Have I Got Election News For You
where Lembit Opik made a brave appearance on Paul Merton's team.
And yes, he did bring his mouth organ with him.
I won't give away too many of the gags but there were some
amusing ones about Nigel Farage's plane crash, the whole
"bigot-gate" incident from last week, and a fantastic joke
at the end about the best solution to end the fuss over
which party allies with whom.
Definitely much needed laughter after an otherwise depressing
day on what is becoming one of the most disappointing years
I've lived through.
Just about every "major event" ends up being a disappointment
regardless of my optimism that no bugger around me seems
to share.
However joking aside, we've all got an excuse to be miserable
whilst we're screwed as a country.
