Where on earth did the weekend go?
Just because many people were sunning it up in Somerset,
didn't mean London itself was empty.
Far from it.
I commenced my long weekend with a few drinks in Leicester Square
with a fair few radio peeps before heading over to the Jazz Cafe
to see "the man" that is Omar, launching his brand new album.
Omar's brother, the "Scratch Professor"
Messin' with that Moog.
Saturday saw the much anticipated "Summer Soulstice" in far
North London where crowds of soul lovers and disc spinners
got together to remember the late Andy Weekes for the 7th
year running.
It was great getting to see so many familiar faces and simply
getting down to the good stuff in the bright sunshine.
The ever lovely Amanda.
Herne Bay homegirl Theresa B.

Loving Ginger Tony's t-shirt.
One of the special guest performers, Mr Glen Goldsmith.
I stuck around until around 7pm, when I headed back over to
Central London and the Prince Charles Cinema for another
screening of "The Room".
It felt a bit more sub-dued than before, but oh my, the ad-libs
from the audience were hilarious.I was sat at the back as well, so luckily I didn't get any spoons chucked at me either.
Lots of belly-button jokes were in order of the night.
I rounded off the long soul weekend in Romford, and Sandra C's
monthly residency at the Victoria pub.
The turn out was amazing, and there were even a few survivors
from Soulstice in attendance.
Soul sistaz Dawn and Sandra.
DJ Trish.
The last few days have resulted in possibly the worst
sunburn I have suffered from and I'm still not sure if
I'll have recovered from the comedown.
Quite a lot of catching up from Glasto should do the job.
I'm itching to see Nile Rogers strut his stuff.
