A rather significant day for television nostalgia, as it's 30 years to the
day since two of ITV's well-regarded programmes of the past made their debut.
Them being the Thames/Cosgrove Hall gem Dangermouse, and the
popular darts quiz Bullseye which at the time was produced by ATV.
With regards to the latter, there were a few differences in the early
days, with the show being transmitted on a Monday evening at 7pm,
as opposed to the well-remembered Sunday teatime slot and Tony Green
had no presence as commentator, with then ATV Today presenter
Nick Owen acting as the announcer.
Credit of course to fellow anoraks Louis Barfe, Ben Baker and Justin Lewis
for pointing out the date on Twitter.
It's very odd having both my windows wide open in late September
with a great possibility of spending tomorrow lying down on one
of Thanet's delightful sunspots.
Apparently it's set to get even warmer, reaching a high of 29c.
I will certainly enjoy it while it lasts.
