A Night Of Pushing Plastic

So my first DJ night at a Grand Union bar and yesterday went fairly well.

It went by pretty quickly and I got a good response from the punters
in attendance, but not many of them were actually dancing which
I didn't understand.

Fair enough, the Kennington GU is more a place for socialising
and there isn't really a lot of room to stretch any body parts within the
space available although I did get one or two attendees moving
to Sly and The Family Stone, Deee Lite, and Crystal Waters
amongst others.

The staff were really nice too, although despite the
lack of people dancing, I got told earlier in the set that
I wasn't playing the music loud enough.

That's never happened before, but if they like it that way
I'm not complaining.

I'll be doing something similar next Friday at the Clarence in Balham
where I've been told to play a slightly left field set of movers
to the ones I played last night.

I.E. less of Ini Kamoze, and more Idris Muhammad.

I'm up for the challenge.
