A Bed Break Of Sorts

I hope I haven't buggered my body clock after this morning.

I watched the opening of Daybreak as planned and the most notable
part was the studio set with it's large glass windows which aren't
really easy on the eye when it's darker outside.

It certainly caused a bit of a problem when during one of the news bulletins
you could clearly see a reflection of one of the crew members.

Anyway technical stuff out of the way, Adrian and Christine looked
pretty comfortable on their new studio set with the programme
style quite distanced from GMTV, even if the opening titles and
theme tune are identical to those when the predecessor launched.

Content wise was where it failed but that's my own problem
as I don't want to wake up feeling depressed and having Adrian Chiles
as a presenter...

Well that says it all.

There were some elements that I reckon may not last too long
in the tradition of many new shows, one being the "5 A Day"
which was a brief rundown of the main headlines, and reminded me
of the first edition of RI:SE (shudder) where newsreader Chris Rogers
referred to his video wall as "your six pack of news".

I was back in bed by 6:45 meaning I missed the interview
with Tony Blair.

However in all fairness the new programme definitely proved
how dated GMTV was looking towards the end, and seems a lot
more down to earth as well.

That said, I'll be sticking with the radio at this time of day.
