Global Tosspots

I'd sort of thought I become more relaxed about Global's
mass rebrand of the Galaxy stations.

It wouldn't affect me as a listener, and the stations that are getting
rebranded have like many others been on a long decline.

That was until I saw this disgraceful comment from chief executive
Ashley Tabor when interviewed about the changes and reasoning
for networked programming;

"I'm afraid to say there are not 33 good mid-morning presenters
in this country
and there are not another 33 good afternoon presenters.
I wish there were, but there aren't."

I can say with conviction that those are the words of
a first class corporate thunderc**t.

I would say world class but no, that would probably go alongside
the hypocrisy of the Global brand.

The jocks who currently present in the respective timeslots
may as well just hand in their notices in protest as a way
of telling Ta-Bore that if he wants to run a national station,
then why wait until fucking January?

And that's not me having a go at said presenters.

It's just another petty comment directed at the man who
outside his radio killing duties co-composed the theme tune
to The X Factor.
To think a tune like that would need more than one composer.

I wonder what bit he was responsible for? The repetition?

For me that quote just represents the arrogance of companies
such as Global.
I should know, I've had many an argument with those who
will defend the bile they're peddling out on the airwaves.

Let's face it I'm not cut out for the masses.

Well from a radio point of view anyway and I don't want
to be converted.

To borrow a line from former Radio 1 presenter Mike Smith;
"It's a bugger of a business"
