Silver Squeaky Socks

An entertaining afternoon was in store on the CBBC Channel
as they were indeed celebrating 25 years of "the bits in between
the programmes".

Presenter Ian Stirling and canine puppet Dodge were
joined in the studio by former Broom Cupboard occupants
Zoe Ball, Toby Anstis and Gordon The Gopher, and
there was a fantastic highlights compilation featuring
many old faces such as Simon Parkin with his Mickey Mouse
impression (done with two vinyl records), Andy Crane,
Andi Peters, Debbie Flint, Phillippa Forrester, Dick & Dom,
Ed & Oucho, Holly Walsh, and even Fearne Cotton.

It almost had me welling up to a point as at a younger age
I was obsessed with them as others were with either Bros
or Take That.

It's an overused statement, but children really are the future
and the BBC really needs to get that round their heads
if television's going to have a future.

With Sam & Mark starting their fifth series of TMi tomorrow,
now moved to Fridays it's worrying as Ant & Dec had left SMTV
at about 3 series in.

What's even more disappointing is that the BBC are resorting
to those who were crap on Saturday mornings to host shows
on Saturday nights ("cough Barrowman") as I could barely
stomach him on Live And Kicking.

Although judging by this clip, neither could Ratz.

And I still swear that's fellow Uni alumni Ross Tilley
in the guise of that cat.

Definitely 25 years of memorable television.
