Pants Sweating

Most of today has been spent writing my "telly tangent"
about Saturday mornings which should be available on here
by Christmas.

This time round everyone will be able to read it, and
it probably won't take as long to write considering half of it
was done 18 months ago whilst I was still at Uni.

On that note, I've managed to find footage from Going Live!
from 21 years ago involving the definitive comedy double act
of Saturday mornings
, performing with one of my favourite
female vocalists.

Never a performer to take herself too seriously, the former
Blue Zone member blends in pretty well although unlike most
participants on the show, she's rather modest about joining in.

I would have liked the clip to have gone on for longer,
as judging by where Sarah Greene is positioned, it looks as if
she's about to preside over a round of the interactive phone in
competition "Star Shot" which was succeeded by examples
such as "Feed The Frog", "Nobble The Wobbles"
and probably most memorable of all "Grabbit Rabbit".

The only "full" edition of Going Live! that I have is the first
one from series 2 where Phillip presented on his own from
Studio 7 whilst Sarah was still recovering in hospital
after her future husband crashed his helicopter with both of them
inside.

I noticed that "Smithy" contributed to an article in this week's
Media Guardian supplement to give his thoughts on Chris Moyles's
whingefest last week.

If you saw his appearance on that lovefest of past Radio 1 breakfast
disk jockeys earlier in the year, you could sense that he wasn't
a great fan of "The Saviour" although he didn't come across as
too bitter despite feeling bad about giving up the broadcast medium
he loved, in favour of giving up and coming comics their first TV
appearances on "That's Showbusiness".

Seriously though, Simon Mayo was more than a worthy successor.
