Despite being rather cloudy it was still pretty warm as I made my way from Canterbury to lovely Ramsgate. And oh my there weren't half a load of nutters, a bickering family on the train who had to make the whole carriage know of their problems, loads of 5-15 year olds messing about in the sea despite it being pretty dark above and there was even a funfair!
Although as always is in these cases, a lot of music was clashing with each other, the guy on the waltzer was playing what sounded like "The Clubbers Guide to 2001" with Rui Da Silva "Touch Me", Iio and "Rapture" etc, whilst the guy on the dodgems was playing Bob Marley's greatest hits back to back.
I'm back safely now and oh my, Steve Jordan really knows great 80s music. So far he's played "Happy Hour" by the Housemartins, "Change Your Mind" by Sharpe and Numan and right now, one of the best 80s records ever; "Calling All The Heroes" by It Bites.
I can remember being so exicited when that song was featured on the intros round on Never Mind The Buzzcocks and so it seems were the panelists despite one of them thinking it was "Maneater" by Hall and Oates!
Ina take note, this is what an 80s show should sound like!
