I am stuffing myself stupid this morning, I am currently enjoying a gorge apple pastry with stripes of icing as brought from Morrisons earlier. This was after enjoying a doughnut also filled with apple but a bit too much sugar for my liking.
In fact, with the exception of beans on toast, vegetarian substitutes for meat products, and processed crap, any food can be gorge and delish if it's done properly and made with great care.
Once again, right place at the right time.
I've also recived another delight from James in Derbyshire, a DVD of the last episode of the ITV Chart Show as transmitted on the Vault, originally from the 27th of April 1991.
I'll probably be watching another one tonight preceeded by another hilarious stand up from Richard Herring, Talking Cock (courtesy www.fistoffun.net)
The show actually made an appearance at the Gulbenkian a few days after this recording in Hull in early 2003 which I'm sure would have cheered me up no end if I went along to see it.
If "Oh Fuck I'm 40" visits London next year then there's no way I'm going to miss the performance. In fact if the boys in Addiscombe Close are kind enough and I continue pulling my weight (well physically there's not that much to pull) I may ask them if they can become the delivery spot for my mail as the halls staff are dreadful. I've timed the delivery from Mum who I can trust with the arrival in the halls reception and the lengths have been apalling.
Especially with train and concert tickets.
But then again although very unlikely, if Herring decides not to perform in London then I'll go elsewhere. I'm heading up to Oxford in late September to see the stage show version of I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue which looks set to be stunning. One of the funniest radio comedy shows that unlike a certain Nicholas Parson's doesn't talk down to the listeners.
I've lost count of the many times on Just A Minute that Nicholas has said
"those are the rules!" whenever the audience has booed or jeered at a challenge from another contestant. The same for Chris Tarrant on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, have they ever looked up the definition of "predictable"?
As long as I don't fall into the trap I'm happy, although this blog appears to have fallen in already! Rant after rant...
Now Playing: Katrina And The Waves: "Walking On Sunshine"
