I reckon it would be an idea to write down a list of the records that have given me the buzz listening to KCFM this morning, here goes...
09:40 Cathy Dennis: "Touch Me (All Night Long)"
09:46 Fleetwood Mac: "Little Lies"
09:56 Billy Griffin: "Hold Me Tighter In The Rain" (A record I heard on Invicta FM's Dance Decades in October 1999 and converted me to an extent)
(Mystery Years Competition, 1977)
10:06 Gladys Knight And The Pips: "Baby Don't Change Your Mind"
10:10 Hot Chocolate: "So You Win Again"
10:14 Brotherhood Of Man: "Angelo" (Well, you can only have so much of a good time!)
10:23 Boney M: "Ma Baker" (Now there's a band that defines summer!)
10:29 Donna Summer: "I Feel Love"
(Mystery Years Competition Part 2 1988, Yes!)
10:34 Yazz and The Plastic Population: "The Only Way Is Up"
10:43 Kim Wilde: "You Came"
10:49 Transvision Vamp: "I Want Your Love"
10:54 Salt 'N' Pepa: "Push It"
10:58 Glen Medeiros: "Nothing's Gonna Change My Love For You"
Clare Westwood is on top form once again and I've finally managed to work out who she reminds me of. Kirsten O'Brien!
A woman who's also from the North East, she's been a CBBC stalwart for over a decade, when viewers "voted" for her by touching their TV screens as part of an April fools stunt in 1996 where she was up against a beardy looking floor manager and a rather ugly production assistant.
This is getting serious, I was planning to go to Morrisons to get a few wares but I'm being held up because of this constant supply of really good music and personality. Thank heavens I'm not working this summer.
It's Only Radio? Absolute rubbish, B.S., tosh, nonsense, cobblers,
Celine Dion, Elaine Paige, Junior Giscombe...
