This is probably the first time I've done this, but it would be more than appropriate to link to a video from Ross T enlightening those outside Northern Ireland to the legend that is UTV's in vision announcer Julian Simmonds.
Put the rubbish weather to one side, that is the number one reason for living in the Belfast area unless you're one of the lucky ones who can receive the different ITV regions on Sky Digital.
Following a few comments in response, including my own, Tilley has responded with his own take off and it's bloody brilliant.
Visually it looks almost similar to this example from Thames back in the early 80s, with another Irish announcer appropriately enough, Peter Marshall.
In vision continuity had been dropped in the TVS region as it was then by the time I arrived and whilst I was in London, you only saw the announcers overnight.
Definitely something that should be brought back and I know that Tilley's main goal was getting into television.
That would be the perfect job although possibly without the fake Irish accent.
