Last night's X Factor again wasn't that memorable and had me thinking when they were going to move on from the audtion stage.
Well, televised audition stage anyway.
Luckily next week it will be coming to an end with two shows on Saturday and Sunday respectively although I'm pretty much convinced that we have a some good contenders for the final 10 already if Stacy and Danyl are anything to go by.
This morning was spent listening to Robbie Vincent as usual where one of the highlights was by the George Benson esque Norman Brown and the title track of his "Celebration" album.
Not a Kool and The Gang cover thankfully but very reminiscent of Brenda Russell.
Listening to her records makes me think if it's even worth moaning about Leona, Adele and other such female vocalists but to be fair, I'm not in a position where I'm subjected to their music without the aid of an off switch.
Yet.
I don't care if they're from the 80s and if they sound dated, musicians were lot less lazier with keyboards in those days when it came to composing, with possibly my favourite from Brenda being "Hello People" from her 1983 album
"Two Eyes".
That's the ideal accompaniment to a simple meal involving either cherry bakewells, or even a rather filling chip butty if cravings got the worst of me and was in the "right place at the right time".
As for tonight Mum and Dad are away in London so I'll indulge in another chicken stew with expensive conchiglie pasta.
This has to ultimately be what I live for.
