From Pant Swinging To Just Pants

I almost forgot that today's quite a significant day in terms of television, as one of the BBC's finest ever show's made it's debut 22 years ago on this day, that being Going Live!

It only sprang to mind after seeing today's opening episode of the inferior TMi now on it's fourth series still with Sam and Mark but without Caroline Flack who will be hosting the ITV2 show I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here - Now! this year.

I'm surprised as to why CBBC are insistent on flogging such trash with a double act who piss about for sake of it, and in a 90 minute timeslot between 8:30 and 10am, it seems very anti climatic compared to the 3 hour length that Going Live! and Live and Kicking had.

Especially with almost half of the show taken up by cartoons and imports.

It probably shows the weakness of the duo's longevity as Ant & Dec had left SM:tv by the amount of time that TMi has reached now.

On a more positive note that same day in 1987 saw the first episode of Chucklevision which is still going today.
It was more of a studio based show than a sitcom in the first series, but to this day Paul and Barry could have me laughing a lot more than the failed chart double act.

Thank goodness for lie ins. And Fighting Talk on 5 Live.
