Dour Dunelm (Hopefully Just In The Short Term)

I can safely say today was my least productive out of all those in the
last 6 weeks I have been at Dunelm. We only had one delivery,
that didn't even until an hour after I started so overall it was
a rather empty day in terms of getting any work done.

All I really did was go up and down the stairs (and the customer lift)
to collect any spare cardboard for baling, and trolleys from the warehouse
to take outside as with the weather once again on form I wanted
to take Sheryl Crow's advice from 10 years ago and "Soak Up The Sun".

But with the work getting more and more bleaker, they let me leave
10 minutes early which was only fair.

Earlier on today I was in Morrisons and heard them playing one of
the songs from Disney's The Little Mermaid and my first thought
was "thank goodness I'm not subjected to that all the time at Dunelm".

Then my second thought was that it was the first film I went to
see at the cinema, in this case the Ilford Odeon back in November 1990,
and although I've probably not seen it in full since then, I still remember
the basic plotline of Ariel wanting to live with humans rather than mer-people.

I didn't foresee the basic plot becoming real life 20 years later,
although unlike Ariel I was actually born where I want to be in the long
run.

I'll have to give the film another viewing, although it probably won't
be tonight due to my telly schedule filled with Eastenders (on tonight
because of Sport Relief on Friday), the first in the 2012 series of
The Apprentice, and of course 10 O'Clock Live with the newly engaged
David Mitchell.

It don't often get obsessed with couples in the public eye but
both himself and Victoria Coren suit each other perfectly.
