Gilles Departs In Style

A big night tonight as far as radio goes, well actually it's tomorrow morning
when this is taking place.

That being the final outing of Gilles Peterson on BBC Radio 1 which
looks set to be exciting.

According to the man himself on Twitter, all of the producers from
the show's 14 year reign will be sharing songs and stories which I
suppose means that Benji B will be on who will fill the gap left
by Gilles on Radio 1, and of course not forgetting the ever delightful
Karen P who produced the show for five years before going off to...

Nah, not the faintest.

Seriously, it's going to be good and I may even stay up a little longer
than normal to listen, provided I don't get too drowsy beforehand.

And if I do, well, I'll just set my alarm for 2am won't I?

It's not like it's a big end of an era of sorts, as it's progression
with the new show on BBC 6Music commencing on Easter Saturday
in an unusual but well thought afternoon slot.

The search for the perfect beat will continue, and you know what?
I'm hoping it's never found.
