Jazzed Up And Welling Up

As planned, I made my wireless appointment at 7pm to listen to
Jamie Cullum's Radio 2 show, and my inner-emotions got the better of me
again, due to the amazing interview and music from guest Carmen Lundy.

The first record played by the musician/vocalist was "The Lamp Is Low"
from her 1985 debut "Good Morning Kiss" and the vinyl crackle added
to the sentimentality, bringing back memories of hearing the track
played on Jazz FM when living in London back in 1990.

In addition to her new album, they also played one from a recently
re-issued album from 1987, "My Shining Hour" lifted from the
"Night And Day" LP.

Is it too early to call the best re-issue of the year?

I won't give away anything from the interview itself, as it's on iPlayer
but it was great to find out more about the women whose music I
have grown up with for many years and still enjoy listening to.

As for Jamie Cullum's show itself, it reached 100 tonight so well done to him
and the Folded Wing team for building and evolving it over the last
two years, making it a very accessible and entertaining listen.

Even more commedable, considering they've been going since April,
and my CSR show has been running since December '09 and is still only
on 95 due to my many "holidays off".
