was a bit of an anti-climax.
The turn out itself was really good, with one of the attendees
being Sarah Thompson, still doing her show on Roundhouse Radio
and making many impressive documentaries.
It was good to catch up with her, and for her and Mel Lewis to see
each other again, given that they were both up for Best Female
at the 2010 Student Radio Awards, of which Mel got the gong.
The advice we got from the panel was really useful, covering
tailor-made demos for specific stations, knowing where to finish a link
and so on, but only five demos actually got played out.
None of them were mine or Sarah's.
However I did succeed in achieving one aim and you've guessed it,
getting a snapshot with one of Radio 1's finest, Annie Mac.
After the event itself the guys from CSR went over to a boozer
in Charlotte Street where we found a rather nice, if a bit cramped
seating area in the basement.
Not all of us who travelled from Canterbury went back as the
more rowdier of the bunch stuck around for further boozing
whilst myself, Ben, Mel (not Lewis), and Jessie got the 10:22
from St Pancras.
Everyone else (bar Ryan and Mel) was on the Underground
by the time we arrived in Canterbury, and I'm hoping in a rather
smug manner, that they don't get back to Canterbury until early
morning.
Elsewhere, it appears that Tony Blackburn's son Pat Sharp has
now entered the jungle following the exit of Freddie Starr.
The bad news is that Sinitta has also joined, but unlike Sharp,
she has absolutely no chance of taking Stacey Solomon's crown.
