I've learnt tonight that a night at Trinity after too many sweet flavoured alcopops can lead to disaster although I don't feel as bunged up as I did this morning.
This goes back all the way to 5pm this afternoon where I stuck around in the radio rooms until "absolutely everybody" (in the words of Australian songstress Vanessa Amorosi) had handed in their final advanced features including Stewart who only just managed to print his cue, seconds before the deadline. As Alesha Dixon would say "The Boy Does Nothing" although I doubt he would take such a thing seriously and for me he's one of the nicest guys on the radio course despite being a victim or lover of "brown nosing".
Let's just say that I'm one of those who's guilty of such things.
Myself, Stoobie and Phil H then went to Sainsburys to buy a few Xmas goodies i.e. wrapping paper, whilst I brought a crate of raspeberry Breezers and a large bottle of tropical flavoured rum "to fill my tum" in the manner of the sea shanty/nursery rhyme which I did a lot more than succeed in leading to jokes about my weight later on.
I brought those back to "The Big Gay House" where myself, Chris, Phil H, Barry and Denis etc watched tonight's Hollyoaks where I still find it hard to believe that Nick Pickard is still in the soap as Tony. For me he will always be known as the brother of John Pickard who was in the brilliant sitcom "2 Point 4 Children" as David.
Most of us indulged in a Pizza Hut takeway with wedges whilst watching a selection of the music channels, mainly 4Music where they were playing this week's Hit40 UK countdown which allegedly had the voice of Scott Mills, but I doubt such a well regarded DJ would lend his voice to a chart aired by commercial radio.
Depsite that there were plenty of Xmas tunes including "Fairytale Of New York" which resulted in all of us singing, or screeching along to.
At this point Phil H's significant other Annabel arrived and had to endure us singing along to Take That songs as shown in a chronological order on "The Vault". We tried to get hold of Phil Landers to come although it appeared that his mobile was switched off which I was a bit gutted about but fair play to him as he made an awful lot of effort editing his feature today.
Phil H decided to spend time in his own room with Annabel, playing some superb acoustic soul by Nicole Willis and The Soul Investigators sounding very similar to Quantic, which got my approval.
It was even significant in being a track that Phil introduced to Trevor Nelson so it shows that someone knows a lot more about modern soul music than I do.
We got a taxi to take us to Harrow where the plan was to go to "The Junction" but the queue was very long so we went to "The Moon On The Hill" which was also pretty packed before finally settling on a venue where I haven't been to for a while. That being "The Fat Controller" across the road where the one and only Joe Haddow used to work.
I bought a round for all those present although by 11:20 we were booted out or so to say and headed down to Trinity where I was absolutely wasted. The music that was played was spot on, a selection of indie classics mixed with a few anthems which would go in my top 10 favourite records, those being The Clash's cover of "I Fought The Law" and "Teenage Kicks" by the Undertones which I happen to know word for word unsurprisingly.
By 1am I was really out of it despite the likes of alumni Pete being present as well as Emma Picton who from now on will be known as "The Waterworks", and first years Alice and "Jadey Babes".
I headed back home with Denis and Phil H where I was completely out of it and as soon as I got back into my flat I preceeded listening to Invicta FM's TOH and Weather jingle from 1990-1995 followed by my infamous Incognito mash-up, breaking my own rule of not being allowed to listen to "Everyday" until my final soul show.
Although technically it's not the actual song at that.
In fact it's weird to think that such a thing resulted in me going bonkers last Summer, but I'm not bitter at all.
I hope everyone's got back safely and I would like to know exactly what's happening tomorrow with regards to our visit into Central and possibly a meal at "The Fire And Stone".
We were far too pissed to even think about that and I'm in dire need of collapsing in bed.
And at the risk of going into mania again I think this sound sums up my current condition.
