TV talent show judges aside, the figure that I appear to bear most resemblance to has to be Mr. Bean.
This is shown perfectly in a sketch made for Comic Relief in 1993 where he appears as a contestant on Blind Date, mainly beacause of him making snide but amusing comments made about the other contestants, especially the Scottish one who happens to be played by a young Alan Cumming.
If I was in the same sort of situation I would be really rubbish on a date on the converstational side of things but I would happen to be in the same sort of mind as
Mr. Bean as illustrated by many of his mannerisms shown in the sketch.
I also talk in the same way as him according to others but I wouldn't go that far.
It now appears according to the BBC's 6 O'Clock News that standing in for Jonathan Ross on Saturday will be up and coming presenter George Lamb from BBC 6 Music which should add a touch of freshness to things a bring him to a wider audience. I've only really seen him on television but he should be irreverant enough to fit in on that timeslot.
However with all the palava that's been going on this week and to complement the jingle post I wrote below, I thought it would be appropriate to upload a few gems used by Jonathan in the past such as this one made by TM in 1988 when he presented on the ILR overnight service "The Superstation", and from 1990 his John Wells voiced presenter ID for Radio 1 when he used to do stand in shows there.
Maybe a few new jingles should be made if he returns to Radio 2 as he's been using the same ones for almost 10 years since joining the station and he would it wouldn't be too difficult to afford them in his case.
