16 And Over

There's a mini white board in the kitchen of our flat (although the background of it is actually silver) that has a list of the people who live in Flat 16 and a "witty description". These include "Alice the Palace", "Caroline, She's Mighty Fine" and "Suzette, the dyke from Essex" which she changed to "is f***ing amazing".

Mine was "Robin the acronym" which I don't know exactly what it means although was at St Martin's Hospital last August I did spend an awful lot of time in the recreation room writing my own acronyms of crushes, and doodling.

There was also a computer in there, minus internet access which seemed to be the only place I could listen to music and luckily Mum and Dad had brought a few CDs over including some smooth jazz compilations and albums by Incognito and Dianne Reeves amongst others. I'm pretty sure they're still on there as I burnt them onto the computer itself which a few of the other people in the hospital were appreciative of rather surprisingly.

I've just heard that the recording I was planning to go to at the BBC Radio Theatre on Monday has been postponed which means I'll be able to be there for all of the G Radio party at the Ku Bar in Leicester Square which will be a good excuse to go a bit crazy with the drinks, even if it does mean being up at 9am the next day prior to live transmission.

The show in question was a special edition of Ivan Brackenbury's spoof Hospital Radio show for BBC Radio 2 which will now be happening in November, so fingers crossed I'll get tickets for that performance.
The only problem is that the tickets for Monday will be waiting in Halls reception by now but I'm not too down about that as there's quite a lot going on this week including
Level 42 at the Royal Albert Hall this coming Thursday.

As for tonight I'll try to be laid back and continue my trawl through EWF's albums where I'm now up to one of my personal favourites "All 'N' All" from 1977 which contains the track "Runnin' that I plan to feature on my show tomorrow which I've sorted out the playlist for.
I'm definitely looking forward to it and have got Bob the US voiceover guy to do some new liners which should provide added value or silliness to the show depending on which way you look at it.

Overall as said many times before there's nothing better than getting the buzz from playing a record on t'wireless which is why I try to avoid playing certain tunes too many times before a show.
Here's hoping it goes well and with the added bonus of getting away with screwing up, not that I want it to happen of course.
