Tonight's goings on at the Ku Bar for our G Radio event went pretty well although having only just got back from there, it's difficult to give a precise account of what actually happened.
Quite a few of us arrived there at 7:30pm where we started inflating G Radio branded balloons and donning our G Radio t-shirts and the bar staff at the Ku Bar were kind enough to give us stickers offering free shots to put onto our G Radio flyers.
This allowed a few of us, namely me, Sam, Denis and Sirin and her mates from Croydon to go around the Soho area attempting to hand them out to potential customers.
The only problem was however that most of them were coming out of other bars and with G.A.Y. being not too far from us we had to make sure that we didn't hand out any near there.
Quite a few people turned up including Dave Sharp where I spoke to him about our Canterbury connections, the amount of cart machines that Steve Wright used to use and his interests of the Radio 1 jingles used around the mid 80s. That definitely proves that we had both had quite a bit to drink.
After around 10pm most of the second years had arrived such as Dean, Alice, Sophie and Amy as well as a few first years including Rob, Jade, and the other Alice with everything in full flow.
A few of us, namely myself, Chris, Phil H, Denis, Stewart and Sam decided to head off around 11pm although Phil Landers decided to stay around in order to do "more research".
We managed to get the tube back to Northwick Park from Picadilly Circus but not before making my second visit to a McDonalds as I had been to one earlier in Harrow with Sirin and Sam. I didn't order anything from either however as I want to finish last night's lamb stew back at the flat.
And this is all after 12am in the morning for goodness sake.
Hopefully none of this will stop me from being up at 9 to get the important jobs done to ensure a smooth running show. Once again it will all be available to listen to via Gradiolondon.co.uk from 12pm tomorrow so you can hear if I'm technically comptent or not.
At least you won't have to actually hear my voice.
