Tonight's Have I Got News For You was an improvement on the rather weak first episode with Fern Britton hosting, where this week Alexander Armstrong made another welcome return to watch over proceedings.
There were plenty of jokes made at him over the possiblity of him taking over as host of Countdown although if he does get the job I hope it doesn't stop him from making occasional appearances on HIGNFY as there's always something in a show with him presenting that will have me in stitches.
One of them in tonight's show being a clip from a South African news programme interviewing financial chairman Nhlanhla Nene and the result of really being under too much pressure.
It was also probably the first time I have laughed at all three of the pictures shown at the end of the programme with the last one being a joke about the New York Bank situation.
I won't give too much away although it's currently available on the iPlayer.
Apparently Tom Baker is hosting next week which may end up being the same sort of episode as when Brian Blessed hosted in the last series although Tom has been a guest on the show before back when Angus Deayton was hosting and he has a long standing habit of reading other comedian's scripts and being able to generate laughs as a result.
