Done And Dusted

I arrived at the SADiE room at 8:15 and I wasn't the only one as very shortly after, Sarah Smith, Denis and Phil H turned up to crack on with editing their features. I made just a few more adjustments to the volume levels and it was all done with just the cue and the music logging sheets to complete which weren't too difficult to write down.

The feature itself can be heard here and whilst it has it's flaws such as a tiny bit of mic rattle and background noise during Concha's interview, I think it manages to cover the different areas on Solitary Activities with a good selection of contributors and they allowed me to achieve my aim with regards to the subject of the feature.

I reckon some of the others that are being done will be a lot better including Denis's one on ticket touts, Phil Landers's one on childhood memories and what I reckon will be the best of all, Phil Harris's guide on "How To Plan The Perfect Party".

I immediately went into Kenton to deliver Kate's birthday present and buy some Strepsils which I hope will sort out my sore throat.
On returning I stopped off at my flat and listened to the second round of Ken Bruce's Champions League Popmaster, the first one for two years.

Basically the structure is the same as normal Popmaster although there's 55 points on offer as the value for each question corresponds to the number in which it is asked.
These included what are normally bonus questions but in this case are just specialist subject questions. Also there's no 3 In 10 at the end as the contest is entirely based on the main game itself to determine who really knows about pop music overall.

Hopefully I be back in Canterbury early on Friday so I can hear what will possibly be the first Grand Final I've heard. I reckon I really will be stumped.

I really liked this Robin…

Nice to hear some personality in it - even better that you’re getting involved in your own feature! It really feels like you’re going on a journey!

Strange to hear the different things that people do when they’re on their own… especially because you don’t get to hear about them normally!

I could really see you getting into the yoga/meditation position and she was very good at describing what was going on and such a nice contrast going into the African marshal art.

LOVE the humour in the ending! Feels like it’s come full circle… nice.

Hope you get a good mark for it!

Thanks for the comments. To be honest it would be difficult for me to do a feature without being in it, not because it would improve the feature, but having it presenter lead means I would have more to work with.

Having said that, it could mean having someone else as the presenter and it would still work well.

Overall my golden rule when making a feature is that it must not be dull and never be taken too seriously.

But overall I'll never have to do anything like this again!
