Finally Conquered

I didn't think it would go this far but Global Radio have announced plans to re-brand the majority of their stations in the UK under the Heart brand and Invicta FM happens to be one of them.

The details can be found in this article but I really don't understand why they want to remove station brands that have had such a long heritage in their own respective transmission areas and that listeners can easilly recall even if the sound of the stations have distanced a lot from when they were in their prime.

It really will be sad to see the disapearance of such an iconic brand in Kent although there are very few vehicles with Invicta FM car stickers around now than there were over 5 years ago.
In fact I've not seen one car sticker with the current logo on which may suggest that they haven't even made any although it could be a sign of wanting the transition to slowly appear.

On a positive note though, I'm glad that in the article they've included the Invicta FM logo from the early 90s which was present on many a car window when I moved to Canterbury and could be seen from it's Canterbury studios, the building of which now occupys the Bar Bars club.

Overall it's the final nail in the coffin.
