Suggestively Soulful

Trevor Nelson definitely has his work cut out hosting the 1Xtra Breakfast Show as well as his Saturday night show going out on that station as well as Radio 1 and still finds time to present a soul show on BBC Radio 2 which I listened to earlier tonight.
There were some good tunes on offer from the likes of The Whispers with a rare groover called "Imagination", and "We Gotta Have Peace" by Curtis Mayfield which Trevor played in response to Robinho leaving Chelsea for Man City.

There were also some e-mails from listeners regarding last week's chosen album
"Breakin' Away" by Al Jarreau which I've been listening to quite recently along with his other material and definitely has the familiar 80s soul/pop sound from
producer Jay Graydon who worked with George Benson around the same time.
Trevor questioned why those who had e-mailed said that they had the album on vinyl but don't have any decks to play it on which doesn't really make sense at all.

The show ended on a pretty low note for my liking with tracks by Kanye West,
and Norah Jones for goodness sake, but next week's show looks set to be pretty good
with tunes from brit funkers Central Line and Deniece William's album "This Is Niecy".

I'd definitely love to go to more places in London that play that type of music other than the DJ sets at the Jazz Cafe, although I'd imagine there's an age limit for over 25s which I'm dreading may get increased to over 30s before long.
