Mum and Dad downstairs have decided to decorate the dining room by hanging up a large map of East Kent of the wall, which I'm sure we had a very long time ago only it wasn't in a frame.
This immediately reminds me of my CD copy of the Invicta FM 1990 jingle package
which has a similar looking map of the entire county on the front cover and was sold to listeners from their Canterbury studios around the time when the station really was
at it's finest.
It's rather sad looking at how it's ended up in 18 years, now part of the "One Network" although here's hoping that when they reach 25 next year they'll find some way to celebrate.
Although with the apparent departure of long standing breakfast host James Heming
by the end of this year, it will be interesting to see how and if it all comes about.
Interestingly enough, one of their sister stations Marcher Sound in Chester celebrated their 25th anniversary on Friday with special shows hosted by Trev and Simon from
Going Live!, and Pat Sharp who oddly enough never presented for the station on its own.
Then again Pat worked for Radio Mercury around the same time who used an adapted set of jingles from David Arnold (not the film composer) based on those that Marcher Sound were using.
During my first year at University one of the posters I had in my room was one promoting the film "Dead Man's Shoes". I'm sure it would be ideal to bring it back with me for my final year although despite being spiteful, I'm hoping I don't go to as much extremes as Richard does in the film itself.
