21 And Laughing

This evening we had a visit from my younger cousin Laura and her boyfriend Josh who I met for the first time.

Laura's celebrating her 21st birthday and popped over for a meal with us consisting of Dad's home made pizzas and we ended up chatting about all sorts of things, quite a lot of them having us in hysterics.

The last half hour or so has been spent watching a superb episode of Buzzcocks with Dermot O'Leary as expected doing a top job of hosts.

Quite a lot of X Factor references in particular many jokes about Jedward, although they played on the Peter Dixon namechecks and round intros spot on.

The only problem is that with the one for "ASTON MERRRYGOLD!" I can't help but think of this one from our visit to Nottingham, done for another Aston who also hails from Peterborough...

On a slightly lower note, fellow Jinglemadder Dave Nightingale has posted on his blog that his own station Chrystal, broadcasting to Sheffield Children's Hospital has closed down after 25 years of broadcasting to the People's Republic of South Yorkshire.

With such an illustrious history and alumni including Richard McCourt amongst others, it's a shame to see the station go, although I'm hoping I'll see Dave and Aston again at another pub meet up.

Provided it's in London of course.
