Instant Fail Competition

January 2010 really has to be the starting point of a major change.

It may not happen instantly but I'm fully confident that a new year always means a fresh start.

Nothing's horrendously wrong although my links with London are still prevailing.

Not least after being wound up by Jake, Spike and Rich on their Apple Bites Back show on Smoke this afternoon involving me winning a million pounds or so to say.

I was happy to play along but surely there's others in the University worthy of being wound up?

Not that I can't take the stick at all, no no, that's what being part of the station was all about.

As for those who can't take any jokes whatsoever, that's a different issue and you can go stuff yourselves.

And that's me being nice.

Anyway, the show's recently started a campaign to get Oli P to be Christmas number 1 with a tune he recorded called "M25" or whatever it is.

More a case of Christmas number "waaaaan!"

I'm worried though to be honest. I don't have any strong bonds in Canterbury, and all of those who I'm really close with (or want to be at least) are in London with jobs that take up their life it seems and I just feel really distanced.

It may be worthy looking on a local "Soul Mates" website as I know there are others who's ideal way of enjoyment is spending time on Brighton Pier even if the temperatures aren't so good.

That's where Palm Court comes in useful.

Having said that, I'm meeting up with Spanish friend of the family Concha tomorrow afternoon for a meal at ASK which I'm looking forward to, and I also plan to get some Christmas shopping done as well.

As always it's a case of getting all that bollocks and the treacherous visit to and from Norfolk out of the way.

I know it's about being with family, but I always start missing others who I feel closer to.

Never a good sign and one that will probably stay with me for years to come.

It's hard trying to end a blog post on a postive note.

The best way to do so is with a joke I guess.
