The Best Boyle From Scotland

I got so carried away last night with the slating session on Twitter that I forgot how funny last night's Buzzcocks was with Frankie Boyle as the host.

I'm certain there was a lot that got cut out of the original recording but that aside he was on top form with some of my favourite gags being one about Kelis getting into trouble with an undercover policewoman disguised as a prostitute, and guest Carol Vorderman having "more brains than Kurt Cobain's garage wall".

All the guests were on top form as well, particularly Richard Herring who blended in well to the proceedings, and I started to feel the same sort of affection for Ironik as I did to Aston from JLS last week.

And fair play to former X Factor contestant Maria Lawson who was in the ID Parade round this week, who could take the acerbic but hilarious jibes from Frankie.
I'd completely forgotten about that song she released which sampled the same Chi-Lites song as MC Hammer.

Actually it reminds me of this gag from an edition of the show in April 2001 relating to that very record. (5.21)

Next week David Tennant's hosting the last one in the series featuring guest apperances from Catherine Tate, and the legend that is Bernard Cribbins.

The man responsible for voicing many childhood gems, such as the Tufty Club public information films, including my favourite at 2.27 containing unintentional innuendo near the end.

I've also had a look inside the Christmas Radio Times, and there's a lot on offer.

Not least these decade retrospective shows on Channel 4 including one devoted to the Best Television of the 00s and the Best Pop Songs of the 00s so I may as well abandon my lists and opinions from my blog.

I'll still be doing an audio download of the 10 Best Albums of the Decade as I doubt they'll be the same as many others, and another comedy quotes montage like the one I did on my last day at Uni.

Again it's just an insight and not to take as gospel or whatever.

It's contrived I know, but listening to music at my own accord really did help out at University and still does now.

So many unlistened to albums and all.

It's going to be fun.
