"Sod All Occurin"

It's hard getting round my head that there's only two more episodes of
Gavin And Stacey as a series.

Judging by the responses on Facebook/Twitter everyone seemed to like Smithy's confrontation with Nessa's dickhead of a fiancée although my personal highlights in the episode were the various uses of songs throughout, save for the cringey wedding vows.

The most obvious being The Prodigy song in Bryn's car, although I was impressed to hear Skint and Demoralised's "Red Lipstick" as Smithy was emerging from the fitting room.

That's quite possibly my favourite tune of 2009 although I'll avoid posting my re-lyriced version about Michael Jackson that I made up a few months ago.

On the subject of the Coldplay song featured in the episode, it immediately brings to mind the latest offering from the second year Westminster TV students as part of their Multicamera Project.

A three part documentary spoof
following Charles Lawley's attempts to make it in the big wide world of rock and roll to disapointing results.

I imagine that all three parts are designed to be split across a longer project which I reckon would work brilliantly.

Again, it looks as if the TV people are having a lot more fun than those doing
the radio magazine module.

Early start tomorrow, I really want to hear Terry Wogan's final Radio 2 breakfast show so it may be worth setting the alarm for even earlier as I keep going back to sleep as soon as I've switched it off.

I'm still undergoing many a mood swing, possibly on a lower scale and yes,
I know people have dismissed me or thought I have been talking nonsense
when I've hinted in the past that things could go horrendously wrong.

I've known this to happen before, I've reached boiling point to it's worst
and being away from home (well, to be honest I already am "
away from home") just makes things a lot worse.

This blog is turning into the Magic Roundabout, but then again, I could say
the same about an episode of Countdown.

Or any daily radio show along the lines of Wright or Mills.

I can never really stay within that sort of viewing or listening routine
for more than 6 months it has to be said.

I'll be honest.

I get really intimidated when I see other people and Facebook statuses extolling the virtues of "mediocrity".

It's what you could call the opposite of "schaudenfraude"-"Laughing at others misfortune" where in this case it's raging at others happiness although I'm sure they don't mean it intentionally.

Hopefully after Xmas I'll attempt to put a few things together so all of us can be happy at the same time.

Not to the point where it takes over our lives.

We couldn't all be exactly the same as everyone else.

But this is what helped me when starting at University to blend in better with others so we could share our interests and now it's all falling apart.

I can officially confirm that the period of finding it a nightmare of getting over change after graduating has well and truly started.

Goodness knows when it will come to an end.

It will do, but things never change in an instant.

That's what I learnt two years ago.

The only thing that's making me feel better was that I didn't leave one year earlier.

And I'm sure you'll all know exactly why.

If my blog posts end up getting longer between now and Wednesday, believe me, there's sod else to be doing here.

If that's the only way I can occupy myself in c****** Canterbury, then it's best that I do so, becuase at the holiday house in Norfolk, they're still stuck in the early 70s with regards to electrical equipment.

We're lucky the TV's in colour, that's all I can say.

Anyway, it's best that I get a lie down, tomorrow's a prolific morning in radio and although I can never assign myself as a TOG or TYG as such, it's going to be a good listen and I'm sure it will be just like any other show really.

Good night.
