"Givin' It Up, Givin It Up"

Media Events today was made up of an analysis of how the war in Vietnam was covered and a seminar discussing the arguments between rolling news or normal bulletins. Trendy Hendy was also kind enough to give us a photocopy each of a chapter from one of the texts relating to fear and panic by Joanna Bourke which will really be a welcome addition to getting the essay done. If only the same could be done with Media Technology, a module that I'm starting to regret choosing.

Afterwards I headed up to radio where Josie, Stevie and Tudor were also sorting things out for their shows. We had a little chat about whether we would be giving anything up for lent and Josie seemed very unsure as she'd given up crisps one year and booze in another if I remember correctly. Funnily enough earlier today I was watching the Father Ted episode where Ted, Dougal and Jack were trying to give up fags, rollerskating and alcohol respectively and the moment when Father Jack finally becomes sober has to be a very witty piece of comedy.

Pretty busy tomorrow as more stuff needs to be sorted for our assessed Retro Room show on Friday, having my photo taken for the Smoke Radio presenter photos and Natasha's asked me to give her a hand with the International show before my soul show, which looks like a challenge but we'll see how things go. On the plus side there's Bar Footsie and Buzzocks as the ideal reward at the end of a rather busy Wednesday.
