A bit of a lie in this morning although I eventually decided to get up and make a start on my Media Events essay about television and radio broadcasts that have cause fear and panic. I've luckily managed to get hold of an MP3 copy of the CBS radio broadcast of "War Of The Worlds" which I know I won't be the only one analysing and may consider getting the DVD of the controversial "Ghostwatch" broadcast on BBC 1 in 1992. The infamous mockumentary in which Michael Parkinson presided over the paranormal goings on at a house in Northolt which many viewers believed to be genuine.
Some light amusement here, Level 42 making an appearance on the first episode of the Fast Show in 1994 performing their recent hit "Forever Now" only to be told by Paul Whitehouse to "piss off". I'm not sure how that sketch came about but ironically the band split up shortly after the show was aired. Now back together of course, I'm hoping they return to do at least one more date in London before I finish Uni. Definitely an experience when in the presence of "Thunderthumbs"!
