Today started off with an ever-entertaining Media Technology lecture looking at the development of television with a slight American bias. Fellow student Richard told me that a good way of staying awake or at least active in one of these lectures is to drink a can of Red Bull throughout the lecture but not before. I'm tempted to have a go at that myself despite not being a great fan of that drink.
I went to Specsavers as planned to have my eyes tested and it turned out that I needed a new pair of glasses. And things have never looked better really, I didn't realise how out of focus everything was until I put them on. It's difficult to wear them whilst using my laptop however as the lenses are too small to view the screen at my distance but that doesn't matter as I'm close enough to see everything on their with nothing getting in the way.
I'd imagine there will be a fair confused looks at the Undercroft tonight.
On that same subject tonight's playlist is sorted and contains a few old favourites such as Willie Bobo's "cowbell remix" of Always There and Sun Goddess by Ramsey Lewis with Earth Wind And Fire. Hopefully the equipment will be actually there on time and I may head over there slightly earlier just to make sure. This time last year the bar would have been packed at 7 with the earlier closing hours. Nowadays by 11pm on a Monday you've got people queuing to get in.
