I really need to start going easy on spending money especially after last nights rather disapointing outing into Central. I'll try to avoid buying anything that's less than a pound at the Undies which shouldn't be too difficult provided that it's only on Monday night that VKs are £1 per bottle. I've even had to resist the temptation to a special gig in April in tribute to the late Paul Tubbs Williams which will be featuring performances from Central Line, Orphy Robinson, Beggar and Co and Junior Giscombe amongst many others. Although I thought Bluey and the guys did a very fitting tribute of their own to him at the Incognito Jazz Cafe gig back in January.
I found out tonight that it really wasn't worth buying that large bag of easy cook rice from ASDA last week as it was very dry, and had a rather strong wheaty taste which wasn't good alongside the mince I made it with. Either that or I should have waited longer than 20 minutes for it to cook but it's one of the things I'll definitely be bringing back to Canterbury and leaving it there. Even really tiny things such as rice and pasta taste different here than they do at home.
Luckily I've still got some mince left over for tomorrow so I'll probably use it alongside some delicious pasta bows.
Moving onwards I managed to find an episode of a vaguely remembered chidren's series, "Noah And Nelly" from the same stable as Roobarb. This shares many similarities to the escapades of the green dog including the wobbly animation, white backgrounds and a rather farty sounding theme tune.
Richard Briers is on narration duties once again, alongside the late Peter Hawkins responsible for many voices including Ben from the Flowerpot Men and the Chief from Jimbo and the Jet Set.
For some reason it gives a terrible craving for wobbly jelly yoghurts along the lines of the Munch Bunch.
