A bit of light emerged amongst the problems with the internet in halls which I believe has now spread to the premium towers. I managed to recieve my ebay purchase along with a nifty looking t-shirt from Cuba and the payment for my eye test and glasses.
Things are still pretty chaotic in radio as there are plenty of nerves ahead of the pilot shows on Thursday and Friday for the respective groups. Ina got a few members of my group in to do a run through which went OK although I will definitely need to bring a few notes with me on the show itself and Ina's pretty nervous about backtiming to make sure things go out on time. I'd never thought I'd be the one actually uttering the saying I've been opposed to for such a long time "it's only radio".
Josie on the other hand who's doing Ina's producer role for the Soul Funk show is more worried about an area close to my heart, branding. I've had a listen to some their stuff which sounds really good including a few sung IDs with a rather silky vocalist who Clara brought in, one such example consisting of "Youure listening to Riicky Marshaaal, on Funk Souul Naatioon" which Josie has been repeating constantly along with "America" by Razorlight and "Mmmbop" by Hanson. The way I see it, there's no better stress relief cure.
