Studio Hogs

Todays been a struggle as far as studio access has been going. One has been taken up by a couple of film and TV students who have been there for about five hours and another is being used by a couple of journalism students who are making it difficult for us to schedule music and jingles for the shows that are going out in the next couple of days for our assessed module. My group are unsure on how to schedule on Selector for our show with the correct music whilst the Soul Funk team have been a bit more successfull although there's a bit of debate on whether to start the show with the classic "Stand By Me". Not really an hour opener in terms of uptemponess.

Most of the shows that have been going out on Smoke have been relishing of Valentines Day material although I'm trying to stay clear of that on the soul show tonight, with a rather appropriate track to open the show "Who Needs Love" by Incognito.
All should be going out at 8pm provided I have access to a studio!

In the meantime I was rather pleased to find a DIY version of The Chart Show on youtube from James2001, mixing the videos of 2007 with the Chart Show stings of 1997, and a nice touch on the fast forward graphics!
In an ideal world I'd love it if it used the fairground graphics from the early 90s although I can understand that would be difficult to edit, as in the original shows the stings used to start off by overlaying the video preceeding it i.e. the screen gets covered by balloons etc.
And it's ever informative with the reccomendation of avoiding the dreadful cover of Run DMC/Aerosmith's "Walk This Way" by Girls Aloud and The Sugababes.

Speaking of which I must remember to tape the Brits before my show tonight as I'll probably end up getting a few VKs down me at Bar Footsie later on!

Glad you like it. A result of around an hour in photoshop and around 4 hours in Adobe Premiere. The videos came from NTL's VOD service, the graphics nicked from the 27/9/97 edition of The Chart Show (which was shown on The Vault a couple of weeks back- if you look closely, there's a frame of a Supergrass video immediatly after the titles I didn't edit out- oops).
