The Almost Ideal Final Project Drinking Do

We've made it, we've managed to finish the live part of our advanced radio module and it really has shot by. Today's show for me was the best out of all three we've done and everything managed to flow really well with a large amount of items and features.
One of which involved sending out Eric into Central London to play the part of James Bond searching for clues that would lead to a lucky caller winning tickets to see The Quantum Of Solace.

I happened to be the only one in our class actually wearing a G Radio t-shirt which I think aren't too bad looking, especially as the G in our logo is the same font as that used in the logo for the final series of the BBC's Saturday morning show "Going Live!" in around 1992/93.
This was when Phillip Schofield would always arrive halfway through the show due to being in Joseph, and guest presenter Kristian Schmid from Neighbours gave away his tonsils in a competition and got sacked for not having a work permit.

Anyhow, Simon Blaxland turned up as planned to analyse this weeks programme paying specific attention to the advertisements as expected but I was impressed that he had listened to the previous two shows that are on the website to listen to and he managed to give good constructive comments.
There were also good words for the features which included a package by Steven about the US election with rather suitable contemporary music such as "American Boy" and "Girls" by the Sugababes playing under when he spoke about Sarah Palin.
He did get a bit of stick for mentioning in a light hearted manner that "John McCain would be likely to die" if getting into power but I can understand what was Steven was trying to get across.

We were really pleased at the end when Dave Sharp summed it up by saying how we'd all come a long way from when we were in the Kodak lecture theatre being told about "how to produce creative radio" to actually being able to do so ourselves and it's been really enjoyable working with a very good group of people.

This was followed by a few drinks at the Undercroft and some stories from Dave's past such as when he was working as a technical assistant for Radio 1's coverage of the 1991 Smash Hits Poll Winners party where presenter Phillip Schofield was attacked by Fruitbat off of Carter USM.
He also told us how at the same event that a lot of young girls mistook him for his namesake Pat Sharp as he had rather long hair at the time.

Quite a few of the boys including Chris, Phil Harris, Stoobie and Denis decided to head off at around half 5 leaving myself Steven, Caroline, Sirin and laterly Emma who had got back from her Propoganda seminar.
We decided to go to the Nandos in Harrow where we spent a lot of the time being honest about the organising of the course in terms of how much the fees our costing in comparision to how little time we are actually in lectures. Most of us also agreed on how moving onto the individual features module next week will be a quite a comedown in comparison to the rather vibrant teamwork of the live module.
I on the other hand literally filled myself up and feel pretty knackered now although really I should be celebrating at the Junction nearby where it's pound a pint night.

I'm well knackered however and I need to be up tomorrow pretty early to go into Primark and buy some new trousers and a tie for the awards on Thursday as I was stupid enough not to bring them back from Canterbury last time I was there.
I may also spend tonight in bed listening to the US election coverage on 5 Live although before that I may have a listen to one of my Special EFX albums I downloaded after hearing one of their tracks played by Robbie Vincent on Jazz FM a couple of weeks ago.

And when I mentioned the band to those in Nandos they thought I really meant "Special Effects" as such which wouldn't too surprising considering the sort of areas I'd like to work in radio.
