I've just e-mailed to Matthew my first proposal over for the features module which is for a feature on how spending a lot of time on your own doesn't necessarily mean that it's antisocial and how individuals enjoy activities like doodling and puzzles.
The audio angle would be looking into how an interviewee's long term comforters from an early age and what they enjoy doing when they are on their own and how the idea doesn't have to be negative at all.
I hope to get an idea for a second proposal which will probably be a series of podcasts but I'm not exactly what to base mine around on. Fellow student Steven McIntosh suggested yesterday for his idea to be a series of student aimed cooking podcasts, and there's already the meditation and relaxtion podcasts from Chill so I would like to come with something original but not impossible to do. Well, probably not original but an idea that's different from what everyone else is doing.
Before heading back to the flat I was up in RP1 where Spike was telling me about going to see Hot Club De Paris tomorrow night who's song "Shipwreck" has been one of the tunes I have been listening to a lot in the last couple of weeks despite it being nearly two years old.
He also managed to discover the video for their song "Hey Housebrick" which is basically a spoof of You've Been Framed that had me cackling quite a lot.
I've also found out via his website that Richard Herring will be one of the guests on this weeks Never Mind The Buzzcocks, probably not as the guest captain but I doubt
Simon Amstell will be saying "What about Richard Herring on the show!" and getting him to plug his new record or TV series.
This would probably be a good excuse to show one of the funniest moments of live television from This Morning With Richard Not Judy where both Richard, and Stewart Lee have to deal with The False Rod Hull trying to pass himself off as The Curious Orange as played by Paul Putner who I'm sure you'll recognise from many other comedy sketch shows.
Kevin Eldon is superb in this sketch and it has to be the funniest utterance of the word "twat" I have heard on television which I'm surprised they got away with being on live at midday on a Sunday afternoon.
When they did that sketch on tour he used the C-word and managed to let "fucking" come out, which if I was in the audience really would result in tears of hilarity.
I doubt I'd be able to concentrate on the rest of the performance as it's one of those pause button moments.
