The Booze Tube

I've sorted the running order and the CDs needed for tonight's show and am more or less set to spend the rest of the day (until 8pm) visiting a selection of the pubs that inhabit the Circle line.

I don't really feel all that up for any drinks as such as I write but by the time we get going I'm certain I'll be in a better state. Or possibly worse.
Apparently second year radio student Amy has asked us to pop in to see her working at her pub near Baker Street station, only we don't know where it is. I'm guessing that was the intention.

Whatever happens, I aim to get back before 8pm although failing that it won't be too much of a problem as I doubt too many people will be listening.

I also aim to get back to the flat straight after to see who the first celebrity is to leave the jungle. Even if any of the contestants that I dislike stay in there, it doesn't matter as it will still make great television if it continues to be heated.

Basically if you've barely got any personality, you'll get booted.

I must say I'm astonished that you're watching I'm A Celebrity. Normally your radio / TV / music taste is so awesome, and yet alongside watching razorsharp comedy like Mock The Week and listening to superb music programmes like Trevor Nelson on Radio 2, you're also following a bunch of Z-listers in the jungle eating bugs and being covered in slime... and the fact that this is considered prime time viewing says a lot about the intelligence level of our population! The fact that it's considered entertainment at all is quite disturbing.

When I was young I remember watching clips of TV shows from places like China or Japan where they had to do all these ridiculous sheep-testicle-eating tasks and remember thinking, even at a young age, this is not good television. Thank God Britain is a bit more sophisticated with more intelligent TV. A few years down the line, and lo-and-behold, we've succumbed to dumbing down.

I've been a fan on and off since the series began to be honest and it's the confrontation between the big egos that draws me in as well as the hosts Ant & Dec taking the mickey out of them all.

I doubt it is as bad as the many endurance based shows from Japan however that Chris Tarrant used to include on his television show although you're definitely right that we're taking more and more of their ideas.
