Knowing (Or Not Knowing) Where To Draw The Line

It really has been a rather dreadful day, not terribly bad but rather uncomfortable. I made a lot of mistakes during my show as a result of being in a bad excuse for a studio with CD players arranged in a confusing manner that won't stop after the track has finished. I've managed to find a way round it however, finding a way round the complicated, dare I say bullshit set up of the desk and hopefully with a tinkering of the levels, next week shouldn't be too bad.

I'm hoping to get back in the bigger studios sooner or later however, especially when the time comes to make my long awaited bow from the station.

Those who were in RP1 were editing their features that need to be handed in tomorrow although they've been given a lot more to do than my year was. In addition to the feature itself they've got to write out release forms for interviews, risk assesments and to make things worse they haven't even been given templates to work from .

I'm hoping that this isn't the case with our final year features module starting next week as it will make the module even more daunting. Although then again we don't necessarily have to do bog-standard radio features as such and try to do our own experimental piece of audio so to say.
Ideally I'd like to make mine feel personal and one to one but make it interesting at the same time. Something along the lines of the podcasts from Chill but with my own individual angle.

One of my big problems I have is that I'm critical about everything as it seems, even to the point of making humourous but snide comments whenever I get the chance sometimes unintentionally upsetting others.
It's happened a lot in the radio rooms but I would like to try my hardest not to do it too much tomorrow night but with the amount of very big personalities from Smoke, it will be tough.
Especially as I've heard that the table arrangements are apparently to be rearranged as a result of certain senior members having a whinge.
The most important thing however will be not to embarass myself in front of those from other Universities who in the past have been really nice when approaching us, asking us what station we're from and so on.

It will be difficult though to avoid embarrassing myself when having a bit of a boogie at the after party and mingling with the big radio people as such under the influence of a few drinks.
That is if they've actually got anything decent to drink.

As for tonight I'll try and brighten myself by watching last week's episode of Russell Brand's Ponderland on Channel 4 Catch Up. If it offended 70 viewers then it's definitely worth viewing.
