"Nice!"

I can honestly say that tonight had to be the worst live performance I have been during my time here in London over my time at University.
It all took place at Jazz at Pizza Express in Soho where the main act was the David Sanchez Quartet playing as part of the London Jazz Festival, and overall represented everything negative about the jazz genre.
In other words it was made up of unmemorable tunes made up of incomprehensible jamming with one of them lasting around half an hour and it's made me realise from now on not to go to any live music gigs that involve sitting down.

To add insult to injury I found out that representing the festival over at the Jazz Cafe tonight were the Five Quarters Quintet, a Finnish jazz act who also lean towards traditional jazz but in there case they know how to actually perform a tune and at the same time it's possible to have a boogie along to it.
Even worse, tomorrow night at the South Bank Centre will see a performance by the best vocal acappella group in the world, that being Take 6 which I really would have liked to have seen as they are well and truly unique.

I'd imagine the lesson learnt tonight is to make sure I do anything I can to ensure that I am able to stay in London beyond University as the London Jazz Festival really is a big deal and I have really understimated the amount of acts that perform as part of it proving that it's not just those who spend 2 hours making a lot of noise.

On the plus side it was good to see Celia and Alan again as well as Pauline who I don't think I've seen since WOMAD in 2004.
I very much doubt that Celia and Alan will see anything similar to tonight when they move to Devon.

I've arrived back safely and rather speedily as well and am trying to avoid finding out who got booted from last night's X Factor as I taped tonight's show.
Expect a review as usual around tomorrow morning.
