Cutting Down Criticism

Just a normal Sunday so far, the morning was spent listening to Robbie Vincent on
Jazz FM which has definitely inspired more record purchases/downloads, and part of the afternoon has been spent writing the factual diary part of my critical report.

I'm pretty certain that it will be a case of cutting it down to fit in with the word limit of between 5000 and 6000 words although I really want to give an honest and critical account of what happened without being too brief which is surprising considering my role has only really involved creating idents and pushing buttons.
I spoke to Chris about writing it on Friday and he said that he would probably have 20,000 words written as he's the editor. However on the plus side I'm not too daunted overall but I hope the deadline issue will be sorted tomorrow morning.

I've spent the rest of the day listening back to the shows that have gone out on Smoke this week, lifted from the student drives and there really is some good stuff from the likes of new boys Matt and Rob and the ever witty "Apple Bites Back" getting Oli P to do a song about "licking a love pump".
I hope to listen to some of the specialist shows as well although it's a shame that a lot of the pre-recorded ones aren't going out due to there not being enough server space on RCS despite several clear outs. I really don't understand why this is the case and something really needs to be done. On the plus side the techies aren't so petty about locking up the stack in RP1 so whenever we need to we can go into the folder and delete the really large files containing shows that have already been aired.

There's also tonight's dance-off on Strictly Come Dancing which I may comment about in the following post although to be fair it's never really that much of an exciting finish. I much preferred it when it was all done on the Saturday but then again I would be stumped between that or the X Factor results.
I'm definitely not in the camp of either liking one or the other as they are both different sorts of shows, although as I'm more interested in music than dance routines,
The X Factor would probably be better by just 10%.
