Soul And Struggles

Another Sunday morning and the perfect excuse to have a lie in whilst listening to Robbie Vincent on Jazz FM as usual. Once again there were some pretty good tunes on offer such as Rose Royce and their underated "Still In Love", a superb live version of Lee Ritenour's "Countdown" which could be a rather topical record, and "Evening Of Love" by Main Ingredient.

Next week it's a Marvin Gaye special although to be perfectly honest, I've never really been a fan of Marvin and find most of his material rather dull and in some cases played to death.
There have been some good covers of his work however such as Tom Browne's jazzy cover of "What's Going On" and more recently Michael Cooper's version of the lesser known "Since I Had You" which was co-written by Leon Ware.

I reckon it may be an even longer lie in next week.

At the moment however I'm procrastinating with regards to writing about what literature I'm going to use despite the fact that the whole aim of the dissertation is to fill the gap the of the lack of literature written about entertainment on television. I'm bound to find something however as the "Interpreting Television" book is my own copy and not one I found in the Harrow library so it may involve looking in other places as the only media related books seem to be ones based around, for the upteenth time; "poncey theories".

I may end up referrring to to my lit review when writing it as a "clit review" in my blog posts.
I know it's snide but it's going to be a bugger to write.

Moving along I've been meaning to upload this rather embarrassing audio from Wigan based station Wish FM where the presenter manages to produce what has to be the most toe curling exchange between two people, in this case being the newsreader, digging more and more deeper.

If you thought the Les Ross interview with Hardeep Singh Kohli was bad, then this is a thousand times worse.

Whether any action has been taken I'm not sure although you really wouldn't think a presenter would go that far.
