The Long Awaited Discussion

I didn't feel at all good this morning but luckily I had time to recover before this afternoon's lecture going through the features module.

We had a listen to a few more examples of radio features or creative audio so to say including a feature from CBC in Canada called "The Change In Farming".
Whilst it's not really about the subject itself, it focuses on musician Adam Goddard taking audio of an interview with his grandfather and setting it to music, inevitably making it sound like a dodgy Art Of Noise song.
It was interesting however after listening when quite a few people asked what the point of the feature was.

We also listened to the audio of the prank phone calls done by Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross and had quite a lengthy discussion about the issue where Matthew revealed about how the whole thing went to air and how he thought the whole idea was planned as Russell knew that Andrew Sachs wouldn't answer his phone. It also turned out that the reason the show's producer wasn't sacked as part of the debacle was because he was part of the Union and could have potentially gone on strike .

As for now we've been given until Monday to e-mail Matthew with proposals for feature or podcast ideas and I may send one tonight based around the idea I talked about with Sara Parker yesterday.

The good news is that for this module each of us gets a £50 budget to pay for travel expenses as such but we've been told not to spend it anything irrelevant to the module as a couple of years ago someone spent their's on drugs and someone else last year who did there's on S&M actually spent there money paying for a dominatrix.
I wasn't too sure as to what one was but Matthew suggested not to get Georgina Baillie for an interview.
