A Decade Of Nostalgic Effort

Ten years ago, and a very long time before sites like Youtube were around I had discovered a new use for the internet and one of that has became pretty much stable ever since.
I'd imagine anyone reading this may have an idea on where that sentence could go.

Anyway, several sites started up showcasing TV idents and jingles such as The Tyne Tees Logo Page, TV World, ABC-TV.net and TV Home which gave us the very succesfull TV Forum. I even had a go at one myself once but it was pretty weak in design and original content. Original as in captured by myself and not web-snatched.

One site however has managed to stay there for 10 years and has gone through many changes throughout, that being TV-Ark.org.uk which I have been impressed with since the beginning.
Back in the days when Steve Hackett used to upload idents and title sequences in AVI format it used to be a treat every week to see what was uploaded there, especially as at the time we didn't have internet access at home.

Now with a very big team looking after the site, they've uploaded a video of various figures in national and regional television such as Tom Edwards from Thames, the seductive Trish Bertram who was an announcer at LWT, Harry Gration and Ian White from Look North, Paul Lavers from Anglia, Sian Lloyd, and Bruce Hammal the voice of Sky Sports and Trans World Sport, who oddly enough I've never seen a photo of before.

This is a superb set of messages showing support for the website, which is probably my favourite website, that overall has kept traditional regional television in the minds of it's many visitors.
And long may it continue.
