We all know the Pearl and Dean song, but a lot of us who lived
in particular areas of the UK were deprived from hearing the "pa-pas"
at their local flea pit.
It was on discovering this offering on Youtube, that I felt really
taken aback after seeing the sting for Rank Screen Advertising
from the early-mid 90s which really has a flavour of the 80s
within it.
I think I got more excited about seeing that than whichever film
we were seeing.
Many years ago I remember Goodlass and Marshall talking
about a similar subject on Smoke, and Ross said that in
Sherbourne they didn't have P&D and referred to a similar
"80s sounding theme" and I'm guessing that it must have
been the RSA theme.
Obviously it's barely stood the test of time but great fun to look
back on to an extent.
Although if I do move back to London, I must make sure
I'm near to a VUE cinema.
