So Jan Moir has been let off for her vile article on the death of Stephen Gately.
Which probably means that she will be allowed to write similar articles
in future, knowing the way that the Daily Mail wants to fuck
up our country in terms of popular culture and tolerance.
But on the other hand, we're a country of free speech or so we're told.
An issue which the Daily Mail were also partly responsible for was covered
on Radio 4's Front Row last night when David Mitchell was interviewed.
The Peep Show star was asked if the BBC were scared of taking
such risks with bad language and risky content, and substituting it
with tamer gags and formats in their place.
Thankfully it seems that no muzzles will be nearing Mitchell's mouth
in the near future, even if the BBC Trust has issued clampdowns
in other areas.
And I bet I'm not the only one who agreed with David over
the fuss over the Ross/Brand saga.
As for whether I'm editing later tonight, I'll see if I can get
over to the Powell building at Christ Church or even get inside it.
I'm really hoping I can make myself as useful as possible.
