"EXCLUSIVE!"

I've ended up with a bit of hayfever as my mouth is feeling rather painful and irritable. Not even the delicious scones I brought from Tesco's this morning are any help.

Last night's Have I Got News For You was once again very disapointing especially as it felt the need to include a tasteless joke about the recent Virginia Tech shootings. I never wanted to see this happen but the show is now starting to run it's course and there's only so many times Paul Merton can respond to a question with "Is It Lulu?".

Once again this Saturday morning I revisited an earlier self with another edition of The Chart Show, this week from the 29th of June 1996. As always an eclectic selection of videos including a few shockers with Caroline Quentin and Leslie Ash being featured with a cover of the song "Tell Him". Another great thing about seeing these again is that they haven't edited out any of the "live" parts of the show such as the Battle Of The Bands where viewers would phone in to vote for one of two artists to be played at the end of the show. This week it was between two of the best 90s soul vocalists Alison Limerick and Dana Dawson with the former winning the duel with a remix of her hit "Where Love Lives".

This weeks specialist chart was The Rock Chart including the brilliant Kula Shaker with "Tavta". I'm sure that lead singer Crispian Mills mentions "Ginsters" in the chorus.
The Top Ten once again was superb with videos from Reel 2 Real, Livin' Joy's "Don't Stop Movin" and "Wrong" by Everything But The Girl. The researchers that week must have had a field day with every single bit of gossip shown midway through the videos starting off with "EXCLUSIVE!". One fact that was actually interesting was how EBTG's Ben Watt revealed he was really pissed off with Paul Weller around the time he was in the Style Council, for nicking elements from EBTG's superb "Eden" album for his own material.

Number 1 this week was Baddiel, Skinner and The Lightning Seeds knocking the Fugees off for just one week as England reached and lost the semi finals of Euro 96. And some stunning exclusives too, from Belinda Carlisle "In Too Deep" and Umboza's "Sunshine" which I may give a spin on my Sun Sea And Soul show this Wednesday.
On that same subject here's the promo for the show that mentioned yesterday.

The outside of M-Block on Harrow Campus is full of buses and caravans as the Batman shoot is taking place. Rumour has it that one of the actors on site is Anthony Michael Hall who starred in the cult 80s movie "The Breakfast Club". It wouldn't be too difficult to replicate that film in the Harrow library if they could cope with the damage.
