Wireless Back Up

Ken Bruce's Popmaster was an interesting listen this morning as his show was done via satellite from the QE2 which kept failing at regular intervals. Luckily newsreader Charles Nove was on hand back in London with the questions to continue the quiz and both contestants won a DAB radio in the end. They did the 3 In 10 question anyway in which the winning contestant had to name three records by Anastasia with predictable results.
Overall it shows that even the more established companies have to cope with poor outside broadcasts but I'm sure they have more advanced equipment than Scoopy.

On a similar note we've got a few O/Bs planned for S(4)S including another one at the Undercroft bar. Hopefully it will be more succesfull than the last and I won't end up being trapped out of the campus like last time! If there's a category for O/Bs at the Student Radio Awards this year then Fresher's Blind Date has to be considered which was done entirely from one of the halls bedrooms. As long as I don't have to look after the technical side of things I'm happy.
